We had an opportunity to design an accent bench for the client with complete creative freedom — no brief, no restrictions. The thinking behind the design was that it should incorporate a wave and look rather airy and light.
The bench was created for a hotel called Nemunas, named after Lithuania’s largest river. That connection to water naturally influenced the design. We wanted to capture the rhythm and softness of a flowing current, giving the bench an airy, fluid form through the middle.
On each end, solid concrete blocks anchor the piece. They symbolize the robustness and power of the building itself — a grounded contrast to the fluid middle section of the piece.
For the same space, we also crafted a few more pieces from concrete. In the end, it became more than just a material choice — it became a subtle thread tying the interior together.
